Hepatitis A Virus Database
The Hepatitis A Viral Database (HAVDB) is an effort to consolidate disparate sequence information collected from the NCBI into a single curated searchable database to facilitate Hepatitis A research in various fields such as epidemilogy, phylogeny and comparative genomics. The HAVDB however was specifically created with the express aim of studying the Hepatitis A proteome, isolating fully conserved regions in the virus proteins and identifying potential MHC binding epitopes in those conserved regions, thereby facilitating DNA vaccine development.
The HAVDB provides access to a database of Hepatitis A genomic and protein sequences from various sequencing experiments carried out worldwide on numerous isolated hepatitis A strains. In addition, the HAVDB provides information on the protein alignment, fully conserved sequences within individual Hepatitis A proteins and predicted MHC binding epitopes. |
